How to perform Hajj and umrah

    In the name of Allah , the beneficent , the merciful 

Now  we mention here ,how to perform hajj and umrah in detail
  Hajj is not imposed on the child and the instance although it will the correct if it is performed by them . However pilgrimage will be required from the child on reaching puberty .
The women may perform this duty if she accompains a licit person to her by virtue of kinship, fostering or affinity.
Muslims go to mecca for performing Hajj and ummrah where Allah's house bait -u -Allah is present.

DAY OF STARTING OF  HAJJ

 
Haj starts from the first day of the month of shawal and end on the dawn of the tenth day of the moth of Zul- Haja. The sacred month is for the sacred month, and for the prohibited things, there is the Law of equality (Qisas). Then whoever transgresses against you, you transgress likewise against him. And fear Allah, and know that Allah is with Al-Muttaqin.
. Consequently pilgrimage is not considered as being performed if it takes place out side these appointed times.
“ He should return any trusts in his possession to their owners or else obtain their permission to their owners or else obtain their permission to retain them. He should repent from sins and determining not to return to such sins again. He must return any property taken unjusty. One should use Hilal wealth because Allah is wealth. 

GOOD DEEDS IN BAIT -U –ALLAH

  
One should avoid all kinds of wrong doing . He should not push and crowd other pilgrims in a way. The pilgrims should learn and understand the rulings pertaining to Hajj.
"They ask you concerning fighting in the Sacred Months. Say, "Fighting therein is a great (transgression) but a greater (transgression) with Allah is to prevent mankind from following the way of Allah, to disbelieve in Him, to prevent access to Al-Masjid Al-Haram, and to drive out its inhabitants". 

Traveler 

The traveler should be attentive to all his duties , The greatest of which is prayer at its proper time. The travelers should do his best to choose righteous companions The traveler should have good morals and manners with people , including patience and forgiveness,gentlenessand kindness, forbearness, modesty ,justice , mercy, Travellers should recite regularly the supplications and words taughts by Muhammad (PBUH) among them the supplications when setting out and boarding the means of transport. 

IHRAM 

 
The duties of Hajj and umrah start with Ihram( link ) (wearing the pilgrimage ritual consecration garments starting from the prescribed place. ) .One may not enter into the pilgrimage ceremonies and will not confirm his compliance to Allah’s commands ( al Talbiya) before approaching his spatial prescribed place or coming near him.

MEEQAT 


Meeqat are some points near Mecca beyond which a pilgrim may not pass without Ihram. When one reaches the meeqat on land by car or some other transport ,he should make ghusal( a complete bath.but there is no sin upon him if he does not bathe. Then he wears two neat white ihram garments . one wrapped around his waist and the other around his shoulders. There is no particular dress for women in Ihram.  

TALBIYA 


Talbiya are words which means
                 Allah I am present               
                            " Allah   Huma  lubaik " 

Then he went to recite Talbiya During umrah. women can also say it. from the moment of Ihram until the beginning of tawaf During Hajj : from the moment of ihram until the stoning the large pillar(jamrah ) on the morning of Eid 


ENTRY  IN KABBA 


After entering in Mecca it is desirable to bathe immediately and go straight to. al- Masjid- al –Haram, in which is situated the ancient ahouse ( The Kabba) for the rites of umrah One should enter al- Masjid- al –Haram, with his right foot ,saying
“Audhu billahil – atheemi wa bi wajihi – lareemi wa sultani-hil – qadeemi minash – shaytanir – rajeem….Allahumma after lee abwaba rahmatik.”
It is from the sunnah for a man to bare his right shoulder and arm . 

TAWAF

 
Then one begins the tawaf of seven circles, starting at the black stone if one is able to reach it without harming people by crowding or pushing . and one passes ar – Rukh- al – Yamani ( the yemini corner he touches it with his hand if he can do so easily. One should not kiss it or wipe his hands as some do ccontrary to the sunnah of propher ( PBUH) When unable to touch it with his hands , he should continue his tawaf without pointing it or saying “Allah akbar” it is from the sunnah , as one performs tawaf , torecite between the Yemini corner and the black stone. 
“Rabana atina fid – dunya hasanatan wa fil akhirati hasanatan wa qina adhab an nar’’
  Beginning each circuit at the bank of black stone anad ending at it . Foe man it is sunnah to walk briskly with small steps On completion of tawaf one should
(1) Cover his right shoulder once again۔
(2) Pray two rak’ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim if it is possible with ease: otherwise in any part of al- Masjid- al –Haram, ..In this prayer one should recite ( after al – Fatihah) in the first rakah  

AS_SAFA AND AL_MARWAH 
 
After the completion of tawaf one goes to begin seven trips at as - safa reciting “Innas – safa wal- marwata min shair – illa “ indeed , as safa as marwah are among the symbols of Allah supplicating in between with any thing he wishes and if he does less than tha t, there is no fault .
"" Verily, As-Safa and Al-Marwah are of the symbols of Allah. So it is not a sin on him who performs Hajj or `Umrah (pilgrimage) of the House to perform Tawaf between them. And whoever does good voluntarily, then verily, Allah is All-Recognizer, All-Knower".
He raises his hands only when supplicating and does not point with them when saying Allahu akbar . He then decends from as- safa toward al marwa and supplicates with any dua that comes to mind for him self, his family ,and the muslims in general . when reaching the green marker men but not women should run until they come to the second marker . 
After which they walk as usual until they arrive at Al. Marwah . Upon reaching Al- marwah one faces the kabah and supplicates he wishes . He continouse walking to the green marker, then runs between the two (men only) and then walks to a
As-safa .Thus he has completed two trips. One from as - safa to al. Marwah and second from al. Marwah to as - safa. He continues until he finishes seven trips ending at al – Marwah.
● There is no blame upon one for completing the sai on a wheel chair if overcome by fatigue or illness
● A woman who has menstrual or postpartum bleeding can complete her sai but not tawaf because the area of sai is not a part of Masjid- al – Haram.  
Hajj Day of Tarwiyah
 
Rites of Hajj starts on 8th of dhul- Hijjah which is called the day of Tarwiyah. This day the pilgrims of Tamattu assumes ihram for Hajj in the morning. Before doing this , he does what he did before the ihram for Umrah-bathing, using scent , etc
In Minnah
All pilgrims set out for Minna before noon and there they pray thuhr,asr, maghrib and isha. Each prayer is done at time and not combined, but the fourth rakah prayers are shortened to two.They spend the eve of the 9th of dhul- Hijjah in Mina and pray fajr there.

The day of Arafat

Staying at Arafat is among the pillars of Hajj, without which the Hajj is invalid . Here muslims will remain until after sun set .At noon pilgrim should stop at Nimrah for thuhr and Asr prayer and to hear the speech .Now one should enter Arafat . The entire plain of Arafat is a standing place. The pilgrims should take care on this great day to make the best use of his/her time in reciting the talbiya , seeking Allah’s forgiveness , confirming his unity and praising him. At noon , The Imam delivers a speech to the people . Then he leads the people in the thuhr and Asr prayers together. No other prayer is performed before and after this prayer.
This Ayah contains Allah's order to those who stand at `Arafat to also move on to Al-Muzdalifah, so that they remember Allah at Al-Mash`ar Al-Haram. Allah commands the Muslim to stand with the rest of the pilgrims at `Arafat, unlike Quraysh who (before Islam) used to remain in the sanctuary, near Al-Muzdalifah, saying that they are the people of Allah's Town and the servants of His House. Al-Bukhari reported that `A'ishah said, "Quraysh and their allies, who used to be called Al-Hums, used to stay in Al-Muzdalifah while the rest of the Arabs would stand at `Arafat. When Islam came, Allah commanded His Prophet to stand at `Arafat and then proceed from there.
In Muzdalifah
After this pilgrims begin moving toward Al- Mashar al –Haram in Muzdalifah to pray the Maghrib and Isha prayers joined and shortened .
" There is no sin on you if you seek the bounty of your Lord (during pilgrimage by trading. Then when you leave `Arafat, remember Allah  by glorifying His praises, i.e., prayers and invocations) at the Mash`ar-il-Haram. And remember Him (by invoking Allah for all good) as He has guided you, and verily you were before, of those who were astray".
They then spend the night there . Here they pick up seven pebbles slightly larger then a pea for rami . 

IN MINNAH

They leave Muzdalifah before sun rise and again reach to Minnah. Stoning Here one throws seven pebbles at the larger pillar one after another,
saying “Allahu akbar”
with each other.I t is a sunnah act for the pilgrims to stand following the stoning of each of the small and medium pillars face the Qiblah ,raise his hands and supplicate waith any duaa that comes to mind .

slaughtering

Then he slaughters the sacrificial animal (hadi) if required of him. He may eat from it and feed the poor.
"And complete Hajj and `Umrah for Allah. But if you are prevented, then sacrifice a Hady that you can afford, and do not shave your heads until the Hady reaches the place of sacrifice. And whosoever of you is ill or has an ailment on his scalp (necessitating shaving), he must pay a Fidyah (ransom) of either fasting or giving Sadaqah or a sacrifice. Then if you are in safety and whosoever performs the `Umrah (in the months of Hajj), before (performing) the Hajj, he must slaughter a Hady such as he can afford, but if he cannot (afford it, he should fast for three days during Hajj and seven days after his return, making ten days in all. This is for him whose family is not present at Al-Masjid Al-Haram (i.e., non-resident of Makkah).
" That they may witness things that are of benefit to them, and mention the Name of Allah on appointed days, over the beast of cattle that He has provided for them. Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor having a hard time."
  "Then let them complete their prescribed duties and perform their vows, and circumambulate the `Atiq House." 

Cutting hairs 

Then the man shaves his head or cuts his hair. The woman cuts a finger’s with from the length of her hair. Tawaf- al- ifadhah
Tawaf- al- ifadhah.
After it the pilgrims goes to Meccah to do seven circuits of tawaf- al- ifadhah. Once . Freed from restrictins of Ihram Once the pilgrims has completed Tawaf- al- ifadhah he/she is freed from all restrictions of Ihram , including marital intercourse. 

APPOINTED DAYS

11th of Dhul-Hijjah After performing tawaf- al –ifadha the pilgrims should return to Mina to spend the nights ;that precede the three days of tashreeq, or two of nights for those who plan to leave after two days .
. And remember Allah during the Appointed Days. But whosoever hastens to leave in two days, there is no sin on him and whosoever stays on, there is no sin on him, if his aim is to do good and obey Allah fear Him, and know that you will surely be gathered unto Him.
The Appointed Days are the Days of Tashriq (11-12-13th of Dhul-Hijjah) while the Known Days are the  first ten (days of Dhul-Hijjah
And remember Allah during the Appointed Days.) means reciting the Takbir -- Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, during the days of Tashriq after the compulsory prayers.
The day of `Arafah (9th of Dhul-Hijjah), the day of the Sacrifice (10th) and the days of the Tashriq (11-12-13th) are our `Id (festival) for we people of Islam. These are days of eating and drinking.
