 Hazrat Fatima(R.A)

Hazrat Fatima(R.A)'s house

Hazrat Fatima(R.A) was the youngest daughter of the Holy Prophet(pbuh). According to some traditions, she was bom when the Ka’abah was being recon¬structed. According to others, she was bom about one year before Prophethood. She was married to Hazrat Ali(R.A) in 2 A.H. The dowry that the Holy Prophet(pbuh) gave her consisted of one cot, a leather pillow filled with the fibre of a palm tree, a water carrier, two earthen pitchers and two hand-mills.
Before his death, the Holy Prophet(pbuh) called her and whispered something in her ear and she began to weep. Then he called her again and whispered something in her ear, and she began to laugh. When Hazrat Ayesha(R.A) asked her, she said “The Holy Prophet(pbuh) first told me that he would die during this illness. But when I began to weep, he said, “You will be the first to meet me,” then I began to laugh.
The death of the Holy Prophetpbuh was a terrible shock to her. It has been said that she never smiled after his death. Six months after the death of the Holy Prophetpbuh, Hazrat Fatima(R.A) also died. Thus, the prophecy of the Holy Prophetpbuh that she would be the first one to meet him in Heaven came true.
At the time of her death she was twenty-nine years old according to some people. But, according to others she was twenty-four. Hazrat Ali did not take another wife while Hazrat Fatima was alive. Hazrat Fatima(R.A) had five children.
The Holy Prophet(pbuh) loved all of then dearly. It was his habit that whenever he went on a journey, he visited Hazrat Fatima last, just before leaving. Similarly, when he came back, it was Hazrat Fatima(R.A) who came to visit him first.
When she came to see him, the Holy Prophet(pbuh) stood up, kissed her forehead and gave his seat to her. Despite the fact that she was the most beloved daughter of the Holy Prophet(pbuh), and a lot of wealth had fallen into the hands of the Muslims as a result of frequent victories, she had little concern with it.
The daughter of the Holy Prophetpbuh led such a hard life that she had blisters on her hand, and her body had be¬come sore from carrying water in the water-carrier. In appearance, Hazrat Fatima was similar to the Holy Prophetpbuh. Her style of talking, sitting and standing were exactly the same as that of the Holy Prophet(pbuh).

Hazrat Khadija (R.A)

Hazrat Khadija(R.A)was also known as Tahira or the pure. She belonged to a noble and rich Quraish family. Her father was a successful businessman.
She was first married to Abu Hala. After the death of both father and her husband, Hazrat Khadija(R.A) needed the services of an honest person to manage her business. Her choice was Hazrat Muhammad(pbuh) who was known to be honest and trustworthy. She was so impressed with his integrity and his way of conducting her business that she sent a proposal of marriage to him which was accepted.
At the time of their marriage, Hazrat Muhammad(pbuh) was twenty-five years old, while Hazrat Khadija (R.A)was forty years of age. The marriage proved to be a very happy one. Hazrat Khadija loved her husband. She placed all her wealth at his disposal. She was the first to declare her faith in his Prophethood. She was, thus, the first convert to Islam.
She also proved to be his greatest helper and supporter in times of difficulty. Hazrat Khadija(R.A) lived for twenty-five years after her marriage. She died on the 11th of Ramazan in the tenth year of Prophethood, three years before Hijrat. She was then sixty-five. Her death was a terrible loss to the Holy Prophet(pbuh). He always retained his love for her and would often say to his other wives. “I can never forget her.
She believed in me when no one else did. She embraced Islam when people disbelieved in me. She helped and comforted me when there was no one to give me a helping hand. ” The Holy Prophet(pbuh) did not take another wife during Hazrat Khadija’s(R.A) life. She bore him two sons and four daughters. Both the sons died while they were very young. Of the daughters, only the youngest Fatima(R.A), lived after her father’s death.

 Hazrat Ayesha (R.A)

Hazrat Ayesha (R.A)was the daughter of Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A), the closest companion of the Holy Prophet(pbuh) and the first Khalifa of Islam. Hazrat Ayesha(R.A) was married to the Holy Prophet(pbuh) ten years after he received the first revelation. At the time of the death of the Holy Prophet(pbuh), she was twenty-five years old. Her apartment was chosen as the everlasting resting place of the Holy Prophet(pbuh). Hazrat Ayesha lived in the same apartment till her death.
Since the wives of the Holy Prophet(pbuh) were forbidden by Allah to re-marry, Hazrat Ayesha (R.A)spent the remaining forty-eight years of her life as a widow, preaching and spreading the message of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. Two years after the death of the Holy Prophet(pbuh), Hazrat Abu Bakr(R.A)died and Hazrat Ayesha(R.A) was deprived of parental love also.
Hazrat Umar(R.A) succeeded Hazrat Abu Bakr(R.A) as the khalifa. He respected Hazrat Ayesha(R.A) very much and took great care of her. He had fixed an annual allowance of ten thousand dirhams for each wife of the Holy Prophet(pbuh).
In the case of Hazrat Ayesha (R.A), the amount was fixed at twelve thousand dirhams as she was very close to the Holy Prophet(pbuh). Hazrat Ayesha (R.A)is ranked among the prominent companions of the Holy Prophet(pbuh).
She used to give decisions on religious matters even during the days of the first three khalifas. Hazrat Ayesha (R.A)not only excelled in knowledge over all the wives of the Holy Prophet(pbuh) and other women but also over the companions of the Holy Prophet(pbuh) except a few.
Many of the Hadis are attributed to her. Hazrat Ayesha(R.A) was a very pious and god-fearing lady. Apart from the five daily prayers, she would offer extra prayers as well. She fasted very often and was particular about pilgrimage. She would often buy slaves in order to free them.
