<span style="font-size: large;"> Mosque Qiblatain is situated in Madina .It is historically very important . It has two mihrabs.  The Qiblatain Mosque is among the three earliest mosques along with  Mosque Quba and Mosque Al-Nabawi. The mosque is located on the north-west of the city of Medina, on Khalid bin al-Waleed road. </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">The mosque was initially maintained by second Caliph of Islam. Hazrat Umar Farooq(R.A). By the rise of the Ottoman empire the mosque was maintained by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent who renovated and reconstructed it.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) went to Banu salma with his <span style="color: #0b5394;"><i><b><a href="http://dehleez-e-islam.blogspot.com/2014/08/companions-of-holy-prophet-pbuh.html" target="_blank">companion</a>s</b></i></span> where son of Um-Qisar dead. They were preparing meal while the time of Asr reached.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) with his companins was prayed in this Mosque  . </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Holy Prophet (PBUH)  was leading the prayer when he received a revelation from Allah instructing him to take the Khana Kaaba as the Qiblah. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) , had been facing Jerusalem during the prayer, upon receiving this revelation, immediately turned around to face Mecca, and those praying behind him also did so. After this, the mosque in which this incident occurred came to be known as Masjid al-Qiblatain . Many <i><span style="color: #073763;">pilgrims</span></i> who go to Mecca for hajj often visit it because of its historic significance.

<span style="font-size: large;">When Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) migrated to <b><i>Madinah, </i></b>Allah commanded him to face Bayt Al-Maqdis  in Jerusalem. He did so for over ten months. However, he liked (to offer prayer in the direction of  the Ka`bah in Makkah. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) offered his prayers facing Bayt Al-Maqdis  for sixteen or seventeen months.He wished that he could pray facing the Ka`bah . The first prayer which he offered facing the Ka`bah was the `Asr  prayer . </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The news of the change of Qiblah was conveyed to some of the Ansar while they were performing the `Asr  prayer towards Bayt Al-Maqdis, upon hearing that, they immediately changed their direction and faced the Ka`bah.
Al-Bukhari 
Certainly, Allah's care and kindness towards His  Messenger, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)  , and certainly, his Ummah  is profoundly great. Allah has guided them to the Qiblah of Prophet Ibrahim .</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> He has commanded them to face the Ka`bah, the most honorable house  which was built by Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S). 
It is a command from Allah to face the Ka`bah from wherever one is on the earth: the east, west, north or south. The exception is of the voluntary prayer  while one is traveling, for one is allowed to offer it in any direction , while his heart is intending the Ka`bah.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> Also, when the battle is raging, one is allowed to offer prayer, however he is able included are those who are not sure of the direction and offer prayer in the wrong direction, thinking that it is the direction of the Qiblah, because Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Hence, every nation and tribe has its own Qiblah that they choose, while Allah's appointed Qiblah is what the believers face. It is a command from Allah to face Al-Masjid Al-Haram from every part of the world during prayer. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">His fulfillment of the Prophet's wish and ordered him to face the Qiblah that he liked and is pleased with. Allah states here that changing the Qiblah is also the truth from Him, that He likes and is pleased with. The Arabs used to honor the Ka`bah and liked the fact that the Holy Prophet was commanded to face it. </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Before the Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) migrated to Al-Madinah, there was a man from Al-Khazraj called "Abu `Amir. Abu `Amir was known for being a notable person among Al-Khazraj. When the Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) arrived at Al-Madinah , Abu `Amir fled from Al-Madinah to Quraysh in Makkah to support them in the war against the Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) . The Quraysh united their forces for the battle of Uhud .</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Abu `Amir dug many holes in the ground between the two camps, into one of which <b>Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) fell, injuring his face and breaking one of his right lower teeth.</b> He also sustained a head injury. Before the fighting started, Abu `Amir approached his people among the Ansar and tried to convince them to support him but They cursed him and he went back declaring, "By Allah! Evil has touched my people after I left.'' The Messenger of Allah called Abu `Amir to Allah and recited the Qur'an to him before his flight to Makkah, but he refused to embrace Islam .  </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">After the battle of Uhud was finished, Abu `Amir realized that the Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) call was still rising and gaining momentum, so he went to Heraclius, the emperor of Rome, asking for his aid against the Prophet .</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> Heraclius gave him promises and Abu `Amir remained with him.He also wrote to several of his people in Al-Madinah, who em</span><span style="font-size: large;"> </span><span style="font-size: large;">braced hypocrisy, promising them that he will lead an army to fight the Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) to defeat him and his call. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">These hypocrites built a Masjid next to the Masjid in Quba', and they finished building it before the Messenger went to Tabuk. They went to the Messenger inviting him to pray in their Masjid so that it would be a proof that the Messenger approved of their Masjid.<b> They told him that they built the Masjid for the weak and ill persons on rainy nights.</b> However, Allah prevented His Messenger from praying in that Masjid.  </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">When the Messenger of Allah came back from Tabuk and was approximately one or two days away from Al-Madinah, Jibril came down to him with the news about Masjid Ad-Dirar . Therefore, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) sent some people to Masjid Ad-Dirar to bring it down before he reached Al-Madinah.  </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">"They are some people of the Ansar to whom Abu `Amir said, `Build a Masjid and prepare whatever you can of power and weapons, for I am headed towards Caesar, emperor of Rome, to bring Roman soldiers with whom I will expel Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and his <a href="http://dehleez-e-islam.blogspot.com/2014/08/companions-of-holy-prophet-pbuh.html" target="_blank"><b><i><span style="color: #0b5394;">companion</span></i></b></a>s.' When they built their Masjid, they went to the Prophet and said to him, "We finished building our Masjid and we would like you pray in it and invoke Allah for us for His blessings.''Allah revealed this verse.  </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">They made it an outpost for those who warred against Allah and His Messenger . </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">The mosque has had more than one purpose in Islam. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1-It has been and still is a place where Muslims gather together five times a day to offer prayers. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">2-Here, the Muslims can be educated on all questions of community welfare. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">3- The Friday sermon is a weekly lecture on current religious, moral, cultural and political issues facing the Muslim community. </span><br />
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: large;">Congregational prayer in Mosque</span> </span></h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">Prayers are required to be offered in congregation under the leadership of the head of the state or his representatives in various mosques of the state. This was the practice of the Holy Prophet((PBUH)) and his immediate successors who always led the congregational prayer five times a day in the mosque at Madinah. </span><br />
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Mosque is centre of all Muslim activities </span></h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">In the days of the Holy Prophet((PBUH)) and his early successors, the mosque was the only centre for all kinds of Muslim activities, where all important national questions were settled. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">War strategies, methods of defence and expeditions were all discussed in the mosque. Whenever, it became necessary to inform the Muslims on any matter of importance, a <i><b>sermon</b></i> or lecture was delivered in the mosque.

In addition to this, there were also arrangements for those people who wanted to acquire knowledge. Men trained as missionaries for the spread of Islam received their education in the mosque.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Mosques as liberaries </span></h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">They were also lodged in rooms called the Suffa, attached to the mosque. In later times, libraries were attached to the mosques, some of them containing as many as 100,000 books.. </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"> Mosques as council halls</span></h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">The mosque also served as the council hall of the Muslims. In the time of <i><b>Hazrat Umar(R.A)</b></i>, two councils were appointed to advise the khalifa, and these councils met in the mosque. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Deputations from Muslim as well as non-Muslim tribes were received in the mosque. Judicial affairs were also settled in the mosque. The mosque was the spiritual, political, educational and social centre for the Muslims.</span><br />
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> Masjid-e-Quba (first mosque of Islam)</span></h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">While migrating from Mekkah to Madinah, the Holy Prophet((PBUH))  stopped at Quba, a village near Madinah. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">During his stay, he built a mosque known as <i><b>Masjid-e-Quba</b></i>. This was the first mosque to be built in Islam and which is revered by the Muslims the world over. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">In the construction of this mosque, the Holy Prophet ((PBUH))  himself took part and worked as a labourer along with his companions.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: #38761d;">Important Mosques</span> </span></h2>

<span style="font-size: large;">Masjid-e-Nabvi</span></h3>
<span style="font-size: large;"> When the Holy Prophet(PBUH) migrated to Madinah, there was no mosque there. The Muslims used to offer prayer whenever it was time for them. Then, under the orders of Allah, the Holy Prophet(PBUH) built a mosque where all Muslims could congregate.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> This mosque was known as Masjid-e-Nabvi or the mosque of the prophet. It is the second mosque built under Islam.

The Holy Prophet(PBUH) selected a vacant site near the place where his camel sat down on entering the city of Madinah. The land belonged to two orphans, who wanted to give the land as a gift. But the Holy Prophet(PBUH) did not think it reasonable to deprive the orphans of its value. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Therefore, after paying its price, the building of the mosque was started. The Holy Prophet(PBUH) himself, worked hard with his companions in the construction.

The walls of the mosque were made of unbaked bricks, the roof was made of mud and date palm leaves and the pillars were made from the trunks of date palm trees. The mosque was extended during the khilafat of Hazrat Umar(R.A).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> It was expanded again by Hazrat Usman(R.A), to meet the needs of the increasing number of the congregation. It has been rebuilt and extended many times in the centuries after the Holy Prophet(PBUH). The Masjid-e-Nabvi is the most sacred and Holy mosque after the Holy Ka’abah.
