The Children of Israel left Egypt in the company of Hazrat Musa (A.S). It was said that there were six hundred thousand soldiers, plus offspring. They borrowed a lot of ornaments and took that with them. Fir`awn was very angry with them. He was filled with great pride and with massive armies. No one that had any authority remained behind in Fir`awn's kingdom. They were all together . The companions of Hazrat Musa (A.S) said: "We are sure to be overtaken.When The two groups met face to face. The people with Hazrat  Musa kept asking, "How can we be saved today'' Hazrat Musa (A.S) replied, Nay, verily, with me is my Lord. He will guide me. It had been so difficult, but it suddenly became easy. Allah commanded him to strike a dry path for them in the sea .He did and the sea was cleft asunder, each part stood like a mighty mountain.  
The sea was split into twelve paths, each route for each Israelite tribe. Allah then commanded the wind and the path was dry for them. The water in between the paths appeared as windows and every tribe was able to see the other so they would not think that others were destroyed.  
The Children of Israel crossed the sea. When the last one crossed, Fir`awn and his soldiers had arrived at the edge of the other shore. There were one hundred thousand black horses . Fir`awn was frightened when he saw the see. He wanted to turn back. The prayer of Hazrat Musa (A.S) was answered. Hazrat  Jibril (A.S) passed by Fir`awn's horse. And then Jibril rushed into the sea, and Fir`awn did the same behind him. Hazrat  Jibril (A.S) no longer had any control .  
He said: "O ‘people do not have more right in the sea.'' So they rushed into the sea. When they all were in the sea and the first of them was about to emerge on the other side, Allah, the commanded the sea to strand them. The sea closed over them . The waves accumulated above Fir`awn and he was overwhelmed by the stupors of death.At that time he said: “I believe that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah in Whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am one of the Muslims. 
Some of the Children of Israel doubted the death of Fir`awn so Allah commanded the sea to throw his body. . The body was thrown to a high place on the land so that the Children of Israel could confirm his death ''  
 Hadith 
Allah's Messenger said; 
“Jibril said to me, "If you could have seen me while I was taking black mud from the sea and placing into the mouth of Fir`awn out of fear that the mercy would reach him.'' anger. Fir`awn and his people were destroyed on the day of `Ashura'.When the Prophet arrived at Al-Madinah he asked, What is this day that you are fasting) They responded `This is the day in which Hazrat Musa (A.S) was victorious over Fir`awn.' So the Prophet said, “You have more right to Hazrat Musa (A.S) than they, so fast it.”

At a place near the Euphrates, the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A)’s steed suddenly stopped and in spite of the unusual spurring, the animal did not move. Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) changed six horses one after another but none of the animals moved from the spot. 
Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) ordered the caravan to be stopped and declared that the journey had ended as he had arrived at the desired destination. Tents were ordered to be pitched . 
Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) gathered the people of the surrounding places, the owners of the plain of Karbala, and 
purchasing the land from them gifted the same to the people of Banu Asad. 
The Brute Ibn Ziyad at Kufa got the information of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A)’s getting out of the control of Hurr and also learnt that Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) had camped near the river Euphrates known as the Al-Qama. 
On the 3rd of Muharram Ubayd Allah bin Ziyad sent an army counting four thousand led by Umar bin Saad Abi Waqqas were the first to move towards Karbala. His orders were to get Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) to surrender to Yazid. When Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) refused, Umar bin Saad told Ubayd Allah bin Ziyad to send more troops. Ubayd Allah bin Ziyad ordered all the men in Kufa to come out and join the army to fight against Hussain. 
People began to pour in on the plain of Karbala from all sides until they were 30,000) thirty thousand and ultimately the enemy’s forces compelled Hussain to shift his camp from the bank of the river to the interior of the burning desert. 
When the enemy wished to march towards the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A)’s camp, the brave Abbas at once drew his sword and stood firm and shouted 
Knowing the bravery, valor, and prowess of the valiant bin Ali, the Lion of God, none cared to step 
forward. But Hussain called his Brother saying: 
“Brother Abbas! Let not bloodshed be initiated from our side. Let them occupy any place they like. 
They call themselves my Grandfather’s followers. Let them enjoy every comfort they want. We shall 
suffer for them, being away from the water. When God is with us, Brother, what if, the river is far away 
from us.” 
When the whole plain of Karbala was full with Yazid’s regiments and the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A)’s camp was totally surrounded by the enemy’s forces, Bin Saad the Commander of the Brute armies met Imam Hussain on the banks of the river and demanded ‘allegiance’ on behalf of the tyrant Yazid .

Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) firmly refused to pay the ‘allegiance. 
At last on the 7th Muharram 61 Hijra the Commander of Yazid’s forces received orders to cut off all 
sources of supply to the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A)’s camp and not allow even a drop of water to reach any of the inmates therein. It can better be imagined than described what the condition of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A)’s camp would have been under the scorching Arabian sun. The camp was in the midst of the burning 
desert, with the heat-waves 
The unavailability of water, with nothing to feed even the young children. Hurr remembered how kind Imam Hussain was when he needed water. He asked Umar bin Saad to give water to Imam Hussain’s camp or at least to the children, but Umar bin Saad showed no pity. 
Access to water had been closed for three days and nights, but during this time they had been able to get some water on one or two occasions.

Haseen bin Numear was put in charge of the police and was ordered to stop people entering Kufa. He found out that Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) was very near Kufa and appointed Hur the leader of an army of 1,000 men, sending him towards Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) to arrest him . When Hur reached Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) he told his men to surround him . Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) instructed his people to set up camp there, and upon noticing this Hur also commanded his army to camp in the area and keep Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) and his followers surrounded . Both groups stayed in their respective camps. The time for Zohar prayer approached, and Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) came out of his tent and approached Hur, telling him: 
"I did not come here of my own wish but was called by the people of Kufa. They sent me letters and even came in person to invite me to Kufa. 
Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) then went back to his camp and prepared to lead the Zohar prayer. Hur and his 
army also performed the prayer behind Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A). Similarly, when the time for Asr prayer arrived, Imam Husain led Hur and his army as well as his own followers in prayer. After performing the 
prayer, Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) addressed Hur and his army, saying: 
"O people, fear Allah (swt) and recognise the truth so that Allah will be pleased with you. 
Recognise the messages that were sent to me, then let me and my people return to Makkah." 
Hur said “I have been ordered to arrest you and take you to the governor of Kufa.” 
Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) told all his people to gather their belongings and prepare to return to Makkah. 
Upon hearing this Hur ordered his men to surround Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) and his people and forceyfully take them to Kufa if they refused to go voluntarily. 
Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) saw four or five people approaching him on camels at a distance from the 
direction of Kufa. 
Nafi' bin Hilal, one of the four men who came from Kufa, told that the well-to-do people of Kufa had been bought by Ibn- ziad and had turned against him and the poor people of Kufa had also left him because of the fear of the governor but in their hearts they were still with him. Nafi’ then went on to explain what had happened to Qais and Baqtr, and how the 
governor had executed them. Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) was hurt and saddened too deeply to stop them flowing. 
Another person who had come was Tarmah bin Addi. He advised Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) that because 
he did not have a large number of people with him to defeat the governor and his men, he should go with him to a place which was safe from attack because it was behind a mountain and his own tribe of more than 20,000 people would do everything in their power to help Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A). After realising that Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) would not consider going with him Tarmah left. Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) continued heading towards Kufa and reached a place called Qasr Bani Muqatil by evening. In the morning Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) and his people performed Fajar prayer and decided to go back to Makkah, but Hur and his army would not let them move towards Makkah. After some time, they reached a place called Nineveh.When the Imam’s caravan came near this place, they saw a man on a horse coming towards them. He was carrying a message from Ubayd Allah Ziya to Hurr bin Yazid Al-Riyahi. 
It was written in letter that “Be firm with Hussain. When you read my letter, do not let him camp anywhere but in the desert where there is no water and no fortification.” 
The Imam said, “Then, let us go to Nainawa . 
Then, the Imam asked Hurr to let him go a little bit further. Hurr bin Yazid Al-Riyahi agreed and the Imam’s caravan went with Hurr’s troops following behind until they reached Karbala . The day, Holy Imam’s caravan reached Karbala was 2nd of Muharram, 61 Hijra.

While on his way to Makkah Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) also met Hazrat Abdullah bin Muti(R.A) . when he discovered that Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) may undertake a journey to Kufa, he warned Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) about the Kufan that the people of Kufa were very disloyal. He advised Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) not to leave the Makkah under any circumstances. 
So Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) settled in Mekkah . 
When the people of Kufa heard that Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) had migrated to Makkah, they discussed how to invite  Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) to Kufa from Makkah. 
It was decided that a letter of invitation would be sent to Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A).Signatures of many people supported the letter. Every two days a letter was sent to Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A). Some people even went to invite Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) to Kufa in person. On receiving 
all the letters and personal invitations, Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A)’s opinion of the people of Kufa began to 
change. 
Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) sent one of his cousins, Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) , to kufa so he could assess the 
situation of Kufa and inform him of his opinion. 
Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) left for Kufa . He reached Madina, which was on his journey. He acquired two guides from Madina. But they ran out of water and the two guides passed away due to dehydration. Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) survived and reached an oasis and found water. 
He continued with his journey to Kufa. It was 1st of Zil-Hijjah 60 A.H. when Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) reached Kufa. 
When the people would hear these letters, they would weep and pledge to support Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) to their last breath. 
 
Nu’man bin Bashir was The governor of Kufa at the time .He gave a speech warning the people of the consequences of opposing 
the government. In the meanwhile Yazid appointed Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) the present 
governor of Basra, the new Governor of Kufa. Yazid said that It was 
urgent because Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) had sent a representative, Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) , to Kufa on his 
behalf, who was seeking allegiance from the people of Kufa and turning them against the 
government. He said that he gave him full authority to deal with the matter as he saw best. UbayduLlah bin Ziyad appointed his brother, Uthman, as deputy governor of Basra. He instructed the people of Basra not to cause any friction or rebel against the King since he would not tolerate such actions and would 
execute anyone, even members of his family, for causing such troubles. 
UbayduLlah bin Ziyad departed for his journey to Kufa with some of his family members. When they had almost reached Kufa he separated from them and entered the city by himself. When the people of 
Kufa saw UbayduLlah bin Ziyad entering the city they thought that it was Imam 
Husain, and started to sing a song welcoming him into their city. UbayduLlah bin Ziyad did not respond them and continued riding his horse towards The governor’s house. When The governor of 
Kufa, Nu’man bin Bashir, heard all the people singing in celebration of Hazrat Imam Husain (R.A) 
coming to Kufa, he got frightened and locked the doors of his house . When UbayduLlah bin Ziyad reached his house 
and knocked on the door, Nu’man would not open it. Then some one recognized governer of basra and he opened the door. 
Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel went to 
Hani bin Urwah’s house, asking whether he could stay there. He said that he should not as he might be creating trouble for him and his family. But After that Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) began living there 
UbayduLlah bin Ziyad asked one of his slaves to act as a detective to find out where Muslim bin Aqeel was . 
The slave approached Muslim bin Awsaja-Asdi who was companion of Muslim bin Aqeel.He said that he 
had found out that a relative of the 
Prophet is staying in Kufa. After that day they became friends. 
Occasionally, Awsaja-Asdi took the slave with him to Hani’s house. 
Shareek was Hani's friend and he came his house .His health had deteriorated rapidly and sadly he passed away. A lot people came to Hani’s house to pay their respects and also came to see Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) . 
Amongst these visitors was Muslim bin Awsaja-Asdi who used to come and bring the detective along with him. The slave had been continuously reporting back to Ibn Ziyad and 
informing him of Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) ’s activities. 
As Hani’s health improved he began attending meetings at The governor’s house daily.However, he began 
using the excuse that he was ill so that he would not have to attend the meetings. But the slave would report back and tell The governor that there was nothing wrong with Hani . One day The governor asked the people why Hani had not been attending 
the meetings. He called him. 
When Hani arrived at The governor’s house he was arrested and questioned about why he had opposed King Yazid.The governor ordered if he could not let him go until he hand Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) over to him. However, Hani refused to hand Muslim over to him saying that Muslim was his guest . 
Because Hani refused to comply with the authorities, The governor ordered to lock up in prison. 
When Hani’s people heard of this they surrounded The governor’s house. The governor called the judge of Kufa, Qadi Shuraih, to come and tell Hani’s people that he was 
alive and had been detained temporarily. After listening to Qadi ’s version of events, the people dispersed. 
When Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) heard of what had happened he gathered together all 18,000 people 
and surrounded The governor’s 
house. The governor saw that he could not contend with such a vast crowd as his police force consisted of only 30 men, so he locked himself inside his house. The people surrounded the 
house all day.The leaders managed to convince their followers to go home, and the crowd began to disperse. 
Eventually there were only a few people left with Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) . Afterwards, he started to walk through the streets of Kufa like a stranger who had just entered the city. 
He reached a house and ask for some water. A woman named Tu’ah answered the door. Her son worked for the governor as a detective. Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) asked the woman for some water and the woman 
gave him some. She then offered him some food but Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) did not feel 
like eating. she had invited Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) to stay in their house as a guest. 
The following morning her son Bilal went to the governor’s house to inform him that Muslim bin Aqeel had been seeking refuge in his house. When the governor heard about this he 
sent 72 of his policemen to arrest Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) . It was 9th Zil-Hijjah 60th Hijra. 
When the police reached they entered and tried to confront Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) to arrest him but 
Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) forced them out of the house. The police tried to enter the house on several 
occasions but the outcome was always the same. Finally Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) was struck on the 
face by the sword of Bakar bin Humran. His upper lip was cut and two of his teeth were broken. The officers then climbed onto the roof of the house and started to throw stones and fire balls inside the house. Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) got on top of the roof of the house and started to fight with the police. 
Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) was so tired from fighting that he had to lean against a wall to rest. Some friends of 
The governor assured him that if he accompanied them to the governor’s house, he would be guaranteed protection and would not be harmed. 
They took him towards the house of the governor. 
Tears were flowing from Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A)’s eyes because had written to Imam Husain telling him to come to Kufa. 
As Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) was 
looking around in governer house he saw that one of his relative, Umar bin Sa’d was standing amongst the 
crowd. Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) called him over. The governor told Umar Bin Sa’d that he may proceed. 
They went into the corner of the room and had a long conversation. At the end Muslim bin 
Aqeel ,'' can you write a letter to Imam Husain telling him that when I arrived in Kufa I was greeted with respect and comfort, and in no time I had more than 18,000 people swearing allegiance to him, daily the numbers were increasing. But they have now all broken their promises and their allegiances and run away. 
Tell him that I will be executed soon and I am writing to him so that he does not come to Kufa as the situation here is really bad. After he had made his requests, they both came back. 
The governor asked Umar Bin Sa’d what Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) had been saying to him. He told 
him everything. The governor told him that he could do as he wished about paying the money 
back and about writing the letter to Imam Husain, but refused to give permission to bury Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A)’s body. The governor started to abuse Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) in front of 
everyone and ordered him to be taken to the roof of the building and executed. Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (R.A) started to recite (prayers) as he was being led up to the roof. When they reached the top of the building they executed him and threw his body into the street. Thevgovernor ordered Hani to be brought and also executed in the same manner.

Hazrat Musa (A.S) was born during a year in which they (Fir`awn's people) were killing all of the male children.Some one told Fira'wn that one new born male baby from those baby who would born in that  particular day became cause of his destruction. 
So Fira'wn ordered his servants to kill all male babies who were born that particular day.The first was inspiring his mother when she was breastfeeding him and she feared that Fir`awn and his chiefs would kill him.  
 So she placed him in a case and cast him into the river Neil. The river carried him away and she became grieved and distressed,.So the river carried him to the home of Fir`awn. Then the people of Fir`awn picked him up, that he might become for them an enemy and a cause of grief.This was a destined matter that they were killing the male children of the Israelites for fear of Hazrat Musa (A.S) 's arrival.But Hazrat Musa (A.S) would not be raised except upon Fir`awn's own bed. He would be sustained by Fir`awn's food and drink, while receiving the love of Fir`awn and his wife.

And there, an enemy of Allah and an enemy of Hazrat Musa (A.S) shall take him. And Allah endued him with love from Him.Then Hazrat Hazrat Musa (A.S) was not nursed by any woman.Hazrat Musa’s sister reached there by chance and said that she would show them one who would nurse him' So Allah restored  to his mother, that she might cool her eyes.When he was accepted into the house of Fir`awn, women were brought in attempts to find someone who might be able to nurse him. But he refused to breast feed from any of them. So she took him and they went with her to his real mother. When her breast was presented to him, he took it and Fir`awn's family were extremely happy for this. Thus, they hired her to nurse him and she achieved great happiness and comfort because of him, in this life and even more so in the Hereafter.

After Hazrat Musa (A.S) had completed the time agreed upon between he and his father-in-law that he would herd sheep. He was traveling for the land of Egypt, after having been away from it for more than ten years. During a cold, wintery night he became lost on the way .

He settled down, making a camp between some mountain passes and mountains that were covered with snow.There was sleet, dense clouds, darkness and fog everywhere. He began to try to make a fire in order to produce some light. While he was in this condition, he saw a fire from the side of the mountain. It appeared to him to be a fire glowing from the right side of the mountain .  
when he saw the fire he said that he would find someone who can guide him to the road.When he reached near the mountain he listen a voice. 
He was called from the right side of the valley, in the blessed place, from the tree:
 "O Musa! Verily, I am Allah.''
 “I am your Lord the One Who is talking to you and addressing you So take off your shoes”.Valley’s name was Tuwa. 
Allah said, "O Musa, do you know why I chose to speak to you directly out of all of the people'' Musa said, "No.'' Allah then said, "Because I have not made anyone humble himself as much as you have humbled yourself. ''So perform Salah for My remembrance. 
Then Allah asked what is that in your right hand, O Musa.” 
He said: "This is my stick, where on I lean on it while I am walking and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep 
Allah said: "Cast it down, O Musa! 
He cast it down, and the stick changed into a huge snake and it moved with rapid movements. Then Allah has commanded him to place his hand into the opening of his garment.
 When Hazrat Musa (A.S) put his hand into the opening of his garment and brought it out, it came out shining as if it were a half moon. 
Then Allah commanded Musa to go to Fir`awn to convey the Message Allah.
Hazrat Musa (A.S) requsted his Lord to expand his chest for his mission And appoint for him a helper from his family, Harun, his brother. 
Allah said
Go you and your brother with My Ayat, My proofs, evidences and miracles.And do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My remembrance.Invite (mankind) to the way of your Lord with wisdom and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better.

According to Anas bin Malik (R.A) 
The Holy Prophet said "Al-Buraq was brought to me, and it was a white animal bigger than a donkey and smaller than a mule. . I rode on it and it took me to Bayt Al-Maqdis Jerusalem, where I tethered it at the hitching post of the Prophets. 
The roof of my house was opened while I was in Makkah, and <a href="http://dehleez-e-islam.blogspot.com/2014/03/jibrail-rooh-ul-qudus.html" target="_blank">Jibril </a>came down and opened my chest, then he washed it with Zamzam water. Then he brought a vessel of gold filled with wisdom and faith, and poured it into my chest, then he closed it up. Al-Buraq was brought to me, and it was a white animal bigger than a donkey and smaller than a mule. . I rode on it and it took me to Bayt Al-Maqdis Jerusalem, where I tethered it at the hitching post of the Prophets. Then he took me by the hand and took me up to the lowest heaven 
Then I entered and prayed two Rak`ahs there, and came out. Jibril brought me a vessel of wine and a vessel of milk, and I chose the milk. Jibril said: `You have chosen the Fitrah natural instinct.' Then I was taken up to the first heaven and Jibril asked for it to be opened. It was said, `Who are you' He said, `Jibril.' It was said, `Who is with you' He said, `Muhammad.' It was asked, `Has his Mission started' He said, `His Mission has started.' So it was opened for us, and there I saw Adam, who welcomed me and prayed for good for me. Then I was taken up to the second heaven there I saw the two maternal cousins, Yahya and `Isa, who welcomed me and prayed for good for me.  
Then I was taken up to the third heaven and there I saw Yusuf, who had been given the beautiful half. He welcomed me and prayed for good for me. Then I was taken up to the fourth heaven and there I saw Idris, who welcomed me and prayed for good for me. Then I was taken up to the fifth heaven and there I saw Harun, who welcomed me and prayed for good for me.  
Then I was taken up to the sixth heaven and there I saw Musa, who welcomed me and prayed for good for me. Then I was taken up to the seventh heaven and there I saw Ibrahim, who was leaning back against the Much-Frequented House Al-Bayt Al-Ma`mur. Every day seventy thousand angels enter it, then they never come back to it again.  
Then I was taken to Sidrat Al-Muntaha the Lote tree beyond which none may pass, and its leaves were like the leaves of elephants and its fruits were like jugs, it is so beautiful. Then Allah revealed that which He revealed to me. He enjoined on me fifty prayers every day and night.  
I came down until I reached Musa, and he said, `What did your Lord enjoin on your Ummah' I said, `Fifty prayers everyday and night.' He said, `Go back to your Lord and ask Him to reduce the burden for your Ummah, for your Ummah will not be able to do that. I tested the Children of Israel and found out how they were.' So I went back to my Lord and said, `O Lord, reduce the burden for my Ummah for they will never be able to do that.' So He reduced it by five.  
I came back down until I met Musa and he asked me, `What did you do' I said, `My Lord reduced my burden by five.' He said, `Go back to your Lord and ask Him to reduce the burden for your Ummah.' I kept going back between my Lord and Musa, and my Lord reduced it by five each time, until He said, `O Muhammad, these are five prayers every day and night, and for every prayer there is the reward of ten, so they are like fifty prayers.' 
 I came down until I reached Musa, and told him about this. He said: `Go back to your Lord and ask him to reduce the burden for your Ummah, for they will never be able to do that.' I had kept going back to my Lord until I felt too shy. 
When I was taken up to my Lord during Al-Mi'raj, I passed by people who had nails of copper with which they were scratching their faces and chests. I asked, `Who are these, O Jibril' He said, `These are those who ate the flesh of the people ﴿i.e., backbiting﴾ and slandered their honor.

On the 9th of Muharram a final  warning was sent to Hazrat Imam Hussain(R.A) from Umar bin Saad . Hazrat Imam Hussain(R.A) refused to bow down to his threats.  
The enemy’s forces advanced towards the camp of the Holy Imam to affect a wholesale massacre of all the inmates there in. 
Hazrat Imam Hussain(R.A) had done the best possible to avoid bloodshed, but every offer for a peaceful settlement 
was rejected and the surrender to Yazid was insisted upon. Hazrat Imam Hussain(R.A) then decided to fight the might of the Devil for the truth and to surrender his all in the way of the Lord and to demonstrate to the human race what Bravery, Patience and Fortitude, those who really love God should put up with to defend the Truth and uphold it. 
On the evening of the 9th, six thousand men led by ‘Shimr bin Zil Jawshan’ were the last detachment to reach Karbala. 
Since his arrival at Karbala on the 2nd Muharram, the Holy Imam used to gather all those who had accompanied him from Makkah, and address them after every night prayer, advising them to leave him to his own fate and to return to their homes. 
Many who had accompanied him with selfish intentions, had deserted him, and of those still left, . Hazrat Imam Hussain(R.A) wanted to effect a final shifting so that only those who desired nothing but the pleasure of the Lord, might remain to accompany him . At last on the 9th Muharram, soon after the enemy’s consent to wait till the following morning, . Hazrat Imam Hussain(R.A) after the ‘Isha’ or the night prayers summoned the remaining people and addressed them ,,'' I release you from the oath and excused you all and you may go free from my obligation. 
At the end of his speech, the Holy Imam asked his brother Hazrat Abbas (R.A)to put out the lamp in the tent so that people may walk away in the darkness without being ashamed of being seen by him. 
The Godly band of the Holy Seventy-Two who stood fast by the Hazrat Imam Hussain(R.A) in the battle for Truth to save the human race against its falling into the abyss of falsehood. 
When Hazrat Imam Hussain(A.S) was passing by Farwa’s [the widow of Imam Hassan tent he heard Qasim say 
to his mother, “Mother, tomorrow Uncle Abbas, Ali Akbar and I will defend Hazrat Imam Hussain(A.S). Mother,if I get shahadit please do not weep for me.” Farwa replied, “My son although I dearly love you, I shall 
not weep for you. Nothing will make me prouder than to see my son give his life for Islam.” When Hazrat Imam Hussain(A.S) heard this conversation he prayed to God to bless Qasim and Farwa. 
Hazrat Abbas (R.A) the dauntless lion stayed beside Hazrat Imam Hussain(A.S) ever since they left Medina and was loved 
by all the members of the Imam’s family. He was so devoted to Hazrat Imam Hussain(A.S), that when 
‘Shimr bin Zil Jawshan’, the second-in-command of Yazid’s army came towards Imam 
Hussain’s camp and called out: “Where are my nephews, Abbas, Abdulla, Ja’far and Uthman?” Hazrat Abbas (R.A) refused to reply. It was only after Hazrat Imam Hussain(A.S) told him “Answer him, because, despite the fact that he is corrupt he is also one of your relatives” then Abbas asked Shimr what he wanted? Shimr replied: 
“O, my nephews, I have specially asked ‘Ubayd Allah bin Ziyad’ for the safety of you all. So why do you wish to kill yourselves with Hussain? Why do you not join the forces of the mighty Yazid?” 
Hazrat Abbas (R.A) looked at him with contempt and retorted, “May God’s wrath fall upon you and O, enemy of God! How dare you counsel us to desert our Master, Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and tie ourselves up with the corrupt and misguided Yazid?” Shimr turned round and went away angrily. 
The camp of the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) contained the ladies and the children of the House of the Holy Prophet (pbuh). Apprehending a surprise attack from the enemy forces which consisted of people who had turned treacherous to the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and his family, a ditch was dug around the camp and fire was lighted the whole night and Hazrat Abbas (R.A) the Brave, guarded the camp in a vigil the whole night walking around it with his sword in his hand mindful of the safety of the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and the inmates of the camp, with a vigilant eye on the ranks of the enemy.  
While the hungry and thirsty devotees of God in the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) camp spent the night in prayers and the devotional supplicate services to God, the soldiers in the Yazidian ranks in the opposite camp spent the whole night in drinking, feasting and making merry in the hope of the promised rewards from Yazid in return for the destruction of the family of the Holy Prophet(pbuh).. God alone knows how many thousands of bowls of wine were emptied on that night. The Yazidian 
forces anxiously awaited the break of the dawn of the next day to affect the brutal slaughter of the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) .

At the break of the dawn of the fateful day, 10th Muharram 61 Hijra, Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) called his son Hazrat Ali Akbar (R.A)who resembled the Holy Prophet the most, and said: “My dear son, Ali! Let me hear the ‘Azan’ the call for Prayer for the last time in this world!” 
When Hazrat Ali Akbar (R.A)gave the call ‘Azan’ his voice resembled the voice of the Holy Prophet and Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) hearing the last ‘Azan’ of his son in the voice of his Grandfather,shed tears, and as the voice of Hazrat Ali Akbar (R.A)reached the inmates in the camp, Hazrat zainab (A.S) along with other ladies hear the call for prayer in the sweet enchanting voice of the beautiful son of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) . 
It was the third day of the thirst inflicted on the whole camp of the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A). Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A). and his devotees performed ‘Tayammum’ instead of ‘Wozu’ and the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A). offered the last congregational prayers with his devotees on earth. 
After the prayer is over, in the morning of that day ‘Umar bin Saad’ led the attack against Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) . He positioned ‘Amr bin Al-Haj Al-Zubaidi’ on the right wing of the army and ‘Shimr bin Zil Jawshan’ on the left wing. And on the infantry he positioned ‘Shibthah bin Al- Rubay’ and gave the standard to his slave Durayd. 
Then Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) ordered all his faithful companions, who were about seventy two men to fall in, and divided his small Godly band into three flanks, i.e., the right and the left wings and the central body. 
Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) appointed ‘Hazrat Zuhayr bin Al-Qayn(R.A) ’ as the Commander of the army’s right wing and ‘Hazrat Habib bin Mouzaher(R,A) ’ on the army’s left wing. Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) called his brave brother,Hazrat Abbas (R.A) , the Faithful and presented to him the Holy Standard of Truth and thus Hazrat Abbas (R.A) from that day 
came to be known as ‘Abbas-e-Alamdar. 
Hazrat ImamHussain (R.A) spoke out a rhetorical speech aloud addressing the men of the Yazidian forces .Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) made this speech so that later no one would be able to say that it was Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) who started this battle. Umar bin Saad became worried that Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) ’s words might change the minds of some of the troops. Hence ordered his slave Durayd saying:Hay Durayd holds your banner and be me witness in front of the prince that I was the first to fight 
He put an arrow to his bow and shot it towards Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A)'s tent. There followed thousands of arrows towards Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) camp.

Hazrat Hurr son of Yazid Al-Riyahi, </h3>
Hazrat Hurr son of Yazid Al-Riyahi, the commander of Yazid’s regiment, was also present in the enemy’s forces in Karbala. He spent all his time in repenting and feeling very guilty for having obstructed the way of the son of the Holy Prophet, and blamed himself for bringing Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) to Karbala. On the morning of 10th Muharram, Hurr called his son secretly in his tent . The son of Hurr readily consented to accompany him and Hurr’s slave who was a faithful & trusted one of his master, was present in the tent.  
 
Hazrat Hurr, with his son and a slave, dashed out of the enemy’s ranks. After that, Hazrat Hurr approached until he driven towards ‘hell’. There is yet time. I have decided to dash out of the ranks of Satan and join the side of the Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) Would you like to accompany me or stay where you are?” 
The son of Hazrat Hurr readily consented to accompany him and Hurr’s slave who was a faithful & trusted one of his master, was present in the tent and implored saying Master- along with you Hurr, with his son and a slave, dashed out of the enemy’s ranks.

Hurr appearing before the Hazrat Abbas (R.A) with tears in his eyes .Hurr was received very warmly by Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) and his companions as special guest. Hurr was the first one who went into the field against the enemy and charged bravely like a wolf among a herd of Sheep and laid down his life, after killing more than forty of enemies. 
Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) rushed to him found him with big cut on the head and the wound was bleeding badly. Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) took his scarf which had belonged to his mother Fatima and 
bandaged his wound and cleaned his eyes from 
blood.Hazrat  Hurr told Imam “Did I do well and are 
you satisfied?” 
The last thing  Hazrat Hurr heard before he died was 
Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) telling him your mother made 
the right choice by naming you Hazrat Hurr .The Freeman. Body of Hurr was carried by his tribe and buried. 
The battle of Truth against Falsehood began. One after another of the Godly ones from the Holy Imam’s side went into the field and laid down his life after exhibiting wonderful bravery, courage, valor and prowess. It looked as if the thirst, hunger, heat and the wounds had no affect whatsoever on the patience, the strength and the determination of Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A)’s devotees. 
At last when the deceitful Umar bin Saad saw the wonderful fight, he was astonished that each one from the Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A)’s side easily destroyed dozens before he fell. 
Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A)’s companions were determined that as long as one of them was alive, they would not allow the blood of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and his family spill in Karbala. From early that morning, Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) together with Abbas the brave, Hazrat Ali Akbar (R.A)and others carried the bodies of their companions back to the camp. Although these brave soldiers did not have their own families to mourn their death, the ladies in Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A)’s camp cried for them as if they were part of their own family.

Wahab bin Abdullah(R.A) </h3>
Wahab son of Abdullah Al-Kalby was a Christian, who was accompanied by his newly married wife and mother. All of them declared their Islam before Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) (pbuh) on the way to Karbala. 
Wahab fought like an angry lion .The enemies beheaded Wahab and threw his head besides his wife’s tent. His wife came out and started to wipe the blood and dust from Wahab’s face. Shimr saw her and ordered his slave to strike her. she fell down beside her husband’s head, thus becoming the first women to be killed from Imam. 
It was now midday, and the time for Zuhur prayer was approaching. Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) asked Hajjaj to make the Azan and asked the enemy to cease fighting till they pray. But ‘Al-Hosayn son ofNumeir’ replied. It will not be accepted from you. 
But ‘Habib son of Mouzaher’ attacked him and hit the head of his horse. Al-Hosayn fell down, but his companions were able to rush and rescue him. 
In the heat of the battle on the day of ‘Ashura’, the Imam offered his prayers hurriedly 
in the form of ‘Salat al-Khawf’ and there was no respite even to offer full prayers. After that all his companions came out to fight, one after the other, until they were all martyred. Imam 
Hussain was left alone with his handful of households only, to fight the huge army of Yazid. Ali’s sons, Ja’far’s sons, Aqil’s sons, Hassan’s sons and Hussain’s sons. The first among them to rush to the battlefield 
was ‘Abdullah bin Muslim bin  Aqil’. 
Aun and Muhammad were the sons of Hazrat Zainab(A.S) , and they were quite young, aged ten and nine years respectively. They had learnt the art of fencing from their uncle, Abbas the brave. The two boys rode out into the battlefield. They fought bravely. 
Aun and Muhammad were attacked from all sides. Hazrat Immam Hussain (R.A) carried the body of Aun while Abbas carried Muhammad. 
Hazrat Zainab came to the two bodies of her sons and addressing them said: “My dear children! Now I am pleased with you that, you have proved your worth and laid down your lives.
