 Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah(R.A)

Hazrat Ubaidah bin Jarrah(R.A) was bom in Makkah and accepted Islam at a young age. He was among the early Muslims who suffered persecution by the Quraish. He remained a loyal and sincere companion to the Prophet through¬out his life. Hazrat Ubaidah(R.A) was a brave soldier and commander. 
He took part in most of the battles fought during the life of the Holy Prophetpbuh. Hazrat Ubaidah(R.A) and Hazrat Umar(R.A) were the two people recommended by Hazrat Abu Bakr(R.A) for the position of the Khalifa after the death of Prophet Muhammadpbuh. However they both declined and Hazrat Abu Bakr(R.A) become the first khalifa of Islam. 
During the khilafat of Hazrat Abu Bakr(R.A), Hazrat Ubaidah(R.A) commanded suc¬cessful expeditions to Syria and Iran. During the khilafat of Hazrat Umar(R.A) he conquered Damascus. 

Hazrat Sa’ad bin Abi Waqqas(R.A)

Sa’ad bin Abi Waqqas(R.A) was bom in Makkah and accepted Islam at the age of seventeen. He was a maternal uncle of the Holy Prophetpbuh and one of his senior most companions. 
He was a brave warrior and took part in all the battles fought during the time of the Prophet Muhammadpbuh. During the Khilafat of Hazrat Umar(R.A), Hazrat Sa’ad bin Waqqas was the commander-in-chief of the Muslim army in the Battle of Qadisiya fought against the Persians. During the khilafat of Hazrat Usman(R.A) he was appointed governor of Kufa. After the assassination of Hazrat Umar he was requested to assume the office of khalifa, but he declined. Thereafter he stayed away from government and politics. 
He is buried in Madinah.

 Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf(R.A) 

According to a tradition Hazrat Abdur Rahman(R.A) was the thirteenth person to become a Muslim, so he ranks among the senior companions of the Holy Prophetpbuh. Abdur Rahman(R.A) was among those Muslims who emigrated twice for Islam. He was in the first group of Muslims who went to Abyssinia. 
He returned to Makkah and later migrated to Madinah. He fought in all the major battles that took place during the life of Prophet Muhammadpbuh. He was a wealthy merchant and spent generously to help needy Muslims. He was appointed Ameer-e-Haj during the khilafat of Hazrat Abu Bakr and retained the position during the khilafats of Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Usman(R.A).
 He died in 32 AH. with him for a long time. On his death bed, the monk told nim about the advent of a prophet in Arabia who would revive the religion of Hazrat Ibrahim. 

Hazrat Salman Farsi (R.A)

Hazrat Salman Farsi(R.A) travelled to Central Arabia in search of the Prophet. On the way, he was betrayed by the traders who were acting as his guides through the desert. They sold him as a slave to a Jew who took him to Yasrab, that is, Madinah. Soon after his arrival, the migration of the Holy Prophetpbuh from Makkah to Yasrab took place. Recognizing in him the signs of the prophet which the monk had described to him, Hazrat Salman(R.A) accepted Islam and purchased his freedom from his Jewish master. 
Before the Battle of the Trench, on the advice of Hazrat Salman(R.A), the Muslims dug a trench around Madinah to defend themselves against the attack of the enemy. Hazrat Salman(R.A) is particularly notable for his closeness with the family of the Holy Prophetpbuh. He expressed his feelings for Hazrat Salman in the fol¬lowing words: “Salman is from amongst my family.”
